Golden Blitz is one of the most valuable yet most misunderstood recurring events in Monopoly GO, because it temporarily unlocks trading for stickers that are normally locked away for good.

What Is Golden Blitz?

Golden stickers are the rarest tier of collectible in any Monopoly GO! album season, the 4-star and 5-star cards that usually sit at the very end of a set, blocking full completion.

Under normal circumstances, these golden stickers are completely non-tradable. You can pull them from high-tier sticker packs, earn them through Wild Sticker packs, or unlock them via milestone rewards, but you can’t send or request them from friends the way you can with standard stickers.

Golden Blitz changes that, temporarily. During a Golden Blitz window, the game selects two specific golden stickers, typically one 4-star and/or one 5-star, and marks them as tradable for the duration of the event.

Suddenly, cards that were permanently locked become sendable and requestable, just like any other sticker in your collection. For collectors who’ve been sitting on duplicate golds with nowhere to send them, it’s one of the best opportunities in the entire game to make real progress on a stubborn album.

How Are the Featured Stickers Chosen?

The two golden stickers featured in each Golden Blitz aren’t picked at random by the game, they’re often selected through community input.

Scopely, the developer behind Monopoly GO!, has run official polls through the Monopoly GO Discord server, letting the community vote on which 4-star or which 5-star sticker get unlocked for the upcoming Blitz.

This means the featured pair can genuinely shift based on which stickers players are most eager to trade, so following the official Discord and social channels and our dedicated GOLDEN BLITZ page ahead of time can give you a heads-up on what’s coming before the in-game banner even appears.

How Golden Blitz Trading Works

Trading during Golden Blitz follows the same basic flow as regular sticker trading, with a few event-specific rules layered on top:

1. Open the Golden Blitz event icon: which appears on the right side of your game board once the event is live.
2. You’ll see the two featured golden stickers: for that specific event, these are the only golden stickers unlocked for trading; every other gold sticker in your album remains locked.
3. Choose Send or Ask: for each sticker. If you’re holding a duplicate of a featured golden sticker, select Send and choose the friend you want to send it to. If you’re missing one of the featured stickers, select Ask to request it from your friends list.
4. Complete the trade: Sent stickers go directly to your friend’s album; requested stickers arrive if a friend on your list has a duplicate and sends it your way.

Trading Limits: How Many Golden Stickers Can You Trade?

This is where Golden Blitz gets genuinely powerful compared to normal trading. Under standard rules, Monopoly GO limits you to five sticker trades per day, total. Golden Blitz adds a separate allowance on top of that, during an active Golden Blitz window, you can send up to five of the featured golden stickers per day, independent of your regular five-trade daily cap.

In practice, that means a single Golden Blitz day can let you complete significantly more trading activity than a normal day, since your golden sticker trades and your standard sticker trades are tracked separately.

How Long Does Golden Blitz Last?

Golden Blitz is a genuinely time-limited event. The Golden Blitz window runs mainly for 24 hours, though Scopely can adjust the exact duration for any given event, as we have seen a couple of times towards the end of the album season, when we got like 3 Golden Blitz events in just over 1 week.

That’s a relatively narrow window compared to some of the game’s other events, which is exactly why timing and preparation matter so much.

If you miss the Golden Blitz Trading window, and those two golden stickers go right back to being permanently locked until the album season ends or they’re featured again (which isn’t guaranteed to happen at all, because it has actually never happened before).

How Often Does Golden Blitz Happen?

There’s no permanent, published Golden Blitz calendar, Scopely doesn’t announce future dates far in advance. That said, clear patterns have emerged from the community tracking these events over time:

• Golden Blitz tends to appear once or twice per month, though the frequency isn’t perfectly fixed.
• Events tend to cluster more heavily in the middle and later stages of an album season, when Scopely is actively trying to help more players reach full completion before the album runs out.
• The featured sticker pair changes with essentially every event, though the same golden sticker can reappear in a later Golden Blitz, it’s just never guaranteed.
• Because there’s no official advance calendar, most dedicated players rely on community trackers, Discord announcement channels, and in-game push notifications to catch each window as early as possible.

How to Prepare for the Next Golden Blitz

The players who get the most out of Golden Blitz aren’t the ones who get lucky, they’re the ones who show up prepared. A few things worth doing before the next window opens:

• Keep a running list of which golden stickers you’re missing: In a large album, it’s easy to lose track of exactly which 4-star and 5-star cards you still need, a quick note or screenshot saves you scrambling once the event timer starts.
• Build and maintain an active trading network before you need it: Golden Blitz is only as useful as the friends and communities you have to trade with. Add active players to your friends list, and join dedicated Monopoly GO! trading groups on Discord, Reddit, or Facebook well before an event goes live.
• Move fast once the event starts: Community observation consistently shows that the best, fastest trades happen in the first few hours of a Golden Blitz window, waiting until the final hours often means the players most likely to have what you need have already traded elsewhere.
• Turn on in-game notifications: so you’re alerted the moment a new Golden Blitz begins, rather than discovering it hours into the window.
